Karo tek question, caramelization

I made a 1/2 pint jar with 100ml of water, 2 teaspoons of karo lite. after pcing for 20 min and then removing the jar, it has a very slight yellow tint to it. Is this jar still good to use for an lc?

yes.

Some say that the mycelium thrives on carmelized sugars, but I dont know. I dont use LC.

I haven't ever had one come out clear that didn't contaim. All of my good LCs have been cook at least 20 mins and all have caramelized.

i use 8% honey. that means 8 grs honey (roughly 1 teaspoon) every 100 ml water. in order to avoid strange phenomenas, i warm the solution until dissolved, then filter using a coffee colander. you can do everything you want, the solution will not caramelize. PC for 30'. if you are interested in LC check "suctospore" in my signature
