Next time you may want to sterilize the manure in jars, and either use the oven tek, a flow hood or a glove box to inoculate them. Filter disks allow the substrate to lose moisture, so be sure and take that into account. The chances of contamination depend solely upon your method.

I moved it into them afterwards. (They would
have melted.) I first cleaned the plastic
containers with liquid dishwashing
detergent. When I put the shit in the
containers, I was wearing latex gloves that
I had drenched in rubbing alcohol and then
allowed to dry completely in the flow hood.
I also used a large spoon that was treated
with alcohol the same way.

but why do so many people not have problems
with contamination when they are using
containers that aren't airtight? Could it be
because they live in areas with low humidity
and low spore counts?
