What the fuck is wrong with my neck........anyone?

While sitting at my desk 2 nights ago, I turned my head to the left to look for something, and I heard a faint click. It wasnt my neck popping, and it didnt hurt at all, now every time I turn my head to the left, I hear the same faint click. I can feel it rattle up my cervical spine, on the left side of vertebra c1, and c2.

As I said, it doesnt hurt at all, and it definitely isn't my neck "popping". For the most part its just really iritating, but I'm a bit worried about it. Ive done a ton of googleing, and no one seems to have any consistent answers.

Does this happen to anyone here?

Obviously I should see a doctor, but I dont have insurance so I'm pretty much fucked on that one. (Its pretty lame considering I work in an infirmary.:angry:)

I tried to record the sound, but its pretty faint. Towards the end I put the recorder (my mp3 player) on my neck so it gets a bit louder. You will probably have to turn your volume all the way up to hear it though........I promise, its not some jackass screaming zombie, it really is my neck popping.

Oh, and that sound at the beginning isnt my neck, its just the mp3 player being jostled around.

Nope, not at all. The only difference of any kind that Ive noticed is the clicking noise. It gets louder if the muscles in my neck are being tensed.

I get that a lot, basically from an accident as a kid. If it doesn't happen often and doesn't hurt, then dont worry about it. But if it happens alot and often, then be concerned. See a Chiro and have them take X-rays. Arthritis will start if alignment is way too out.

Give it a week or two or four and see if it goes away.  Since your symptoms are so mild, I don't think there should be any cause for concern.

Thats what I should do, but I cant afford the doc. Around here it cost a hell of allot more than 100 dollars. But yeah, I'm just taking a anti-inflammatory now, and trying to go easy on it. I dont think its the actual bone scraping, to me it feels, and sounds like either an inflamed tendon, or a muscle imbalance. I've had something similar in both my wrist, and my hip before. Its just freaking me out because its my spine.
