I'm not perfect at it but I wish ppl would make more of an effort with spelling (dyslexics etc excluded!). I was gonna list a load of examples but I reckon you'll know what i'm talking about.

I do like it when ppl spell words wrong intentionally like Klitoris tho :grin:

I'm dyslexic! It can suck though being at work trying to read a paper fast working on the machine get the process mixed up.

Most people who can't spell aren't dyslexic, they just use it as an excuse. I'm bad at math, so I must have... number dyslexia! :awesome:

I'd be happy if people could just get there/their/they're, loose/lose, and its/it's correct with any consistency.

Yeah if your browser has spellcheck in it you don't have any excuse really. But a lot of people just don't care and they're happy to ignore the red underlined words

Half the time when i am posting on the Shroomery I'm tired yet i can't go to sleep, so i really don't pay attention to the details. I do use spell check, so i guess thats something. I don't care how badly people spell or how badly they put together their sentences, because I'm not grading them or basing my responses on their grammar. Alot of people get all fucked up and come here for entertainment, so I'm sure the last thing on their mind is if they spell correctly.

Why should I believe you know what you're talking about in regards to anything else when you don't even know if you mean "We're", like you and another person, or "Were", a prefix for a scary wolf-man?

Doesn't that seem a bit elitist to you?. Many intelligent/functioning adults are illiterate which includes an inability to spell. Not to begin discussing the many other variables that result in a persons ability to spell or use "correct" grammar.

I can list you quite a few talented artists, musicians and writers who blatantly disregard grammar and are yet still able to make their content clear and understandable.

Yes. language is one of the greatest tools we've got, it should be used to its best possible means. It's like a ballroom dance, the better you are at it, the more beautiful it is. :heart:

Language can be a beautiful expression of emotion and thought but it can also rabidly divide and separate people.

In this case, those who use "proper" diction I'm sure consider themselves far better educated or at the very least far more concerned about the welfare of language than those who choose not to adhere to the strictness of language.

Its people like this who try to cut words out of language and define certain words as good or bad. ie: Fuck.

THE EMOTIONAL AND INTELLECTUAL CONTENT IS FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE GRAMMAR!
