I kinda feel like im no longer up for the future. Like i'm slowly but surely getting more retarded by the day. But then again I think ive smoked too much marijuana lately

That's Maybe the one smart thing i did for myself. I found exactly what was perfectly happy to do with my life. There's No way i could make a career out of what i love(building cars,and such),so i found a way to do something that is part of what I love (welding). hard work,but I love it.

As far as non working life. I'm on a fucking mission. Build my bike and get the fuck out. As far as gas,money,and miles will take me. Just me and the machine i built.


I swear I'm not gloating. That's just the one area of my life I've always had down pat. Everything else has always been in complete chaos.

Find something you love and Go for it. step by step. :thumbup:

well than...Make that your goal,future. To find out what your want to do for your future. Aim to do it all. dabble into everything you can. That alone is purpose enough in life.

Some old racer guy,or something,i forgot, told me something along these lines( i think he quoted it too):

" some of the more interesting people I've met in my life still didn't know what they wanted to do when they grow up by there 40's. Some of the most interesting people I've meet in my entire life still didn't know what they wanted to do in life by there 60's."

Something like that, Surely i butchered it.

You can only live NOW. What should you do now? As long as you are putting your energy in the future, or the past, you aren't living entirely now. Now is the only thing that you can really have an effect on. Obviously you still need to think about the consequences of now, but it really is the only time that you can live.

I find my life a struggle. Society is pretty meaningless. Yet, i do believe certain things and i've seen and experienced enough to know that i can make this life meaningfull by constantly changing myself. It may sound stupid but i find alot of meaning in making my life 'clean'. I try to get over my past. No more drugs etc... but then again i'm extreem. But hey, it's meaningfull to me. I don't expect any possitive aid from society in my quest for meaning. That's totally up to me. I wouldn't want them to offer me meaning. Stronger still, i refuse the meaning they try to convey to me. Maybe you should break out and do something spiritual, like a two month hike in India or so... go see the saints...
Really it depends on your attitude towards life. But the more i live and learn the more i see that meaning is inside of me not outside there some where.

I feel ya on that one man. Sometimes being able to do what you love involves doing so much of what you hate, that you question if it's really worth it, or even if you are capable of getting through all the bullshit before you become happy. That's about where I am in life right now too.

i was confused and intimidated after dropping out of college with no plans on how to survive whatsoever. now i've learned to be relaxed and just live and not let your fears project hallucinations into your mind. just be how you are and go toward what you yearn in your heart, however improbable and distant your dreams may seem. in the end everything is always in your grasp, the horror and the bliss.

Yeah if you hate the getting there part, you probably aren't going to be instantly fulfilled when you reach your goal.  The intermediate steps have to bring you some joy for it to be worthwhile, IMHO.  Why not be happy now?  What's missing now that won't be missing later?

You can't view years and years of your life as some huge obstacle you have to endure to get to the good part.  Well, you can, but your existence will just be a constant flip-flop between bullshit and momentary escape from that bullshit.  This is so normal these days: trying to get past this moment to get to a preferable one in the future that promises fulfillment or salvation.  No matter what you do in life, IMO there is nothing more important than learning how to enjoy life in whatever moment you are in.
