Rye Grain from the feed store.

I called the local feed store and asked if they caried "rye grain". I told them it was also called "rye berries". They said that they carried "rye", and it was called "ebony rye." I am not sure if the first word really was ebony. I had difficulity understanding the very heavy accent.

Anyways, does this sound like the right stuf? He said it was $9.99 for a 50lb bag! I have been paying 1.19 a pound at the health food store. I also buy them out whenever I go and they have been making comments like "wow, you buy a lot of this stuff" and no "we usually only go throught 30 lbs every 2 weeks, ect"

Also will this be of an inferior quality to the "organically grown" stuff from the health food store?

my favorite brand is arrowhead mills, organic prepackaged, but sometimes i use generic feed store. It worked fine for me. there seemed to be more inert matter and other crap in there, but it still worked. Once i got great stuff from the feed store that was clean, unbroken and worked great. It really depends on the individual supply. It will probably work for you.
