LC? Mycelia growth or settled nutrient?
    #8601373 -

Had two questions really. First what I know.

I used 250 ml sterilized H2O + .5TBS honey + .5TBS Karo Light Corn Syrup. The lid has a single inoculation point, using silicon as a self healing port. The jar was PCd for 90  mins with the rubber side of the lid down. So once cooled, the jar was a vacuum. I took the last 1.5cc of A strain that I had, inserted the needle and the plunger was sucked and the jar, self inoculated itself.

It is day 3.5 (knocked up 6am July 3) in 75F temp in closet.

Q1? does LC need to have FAE? cause I dont
Q2? see pictures below (hope you can see), but is the trash in the bottom of this jar concentrated nutrient? or mycelium?

Thanks in advance. (exposing myself so be gentle)

That liquid is really dark. It's going to make identifying anything difficult.

1.) Yes, you need gas exchange for LC's.

2.) Due to the colour of that liquid it is really hard to say. I'm going to say nutrient sedimentation though. 3 days is probably a bit too short for that amount of mycelial growth.

Also, next time you are PCing an LC don't do it for 90 minutes. You will caramelise the sugars, which is what it looks like you have done. 20 minutes is sufficient.

thank you for the nice pics, blood4blood!

I'm such a visual learner and all the images/video/media here has been a tremendous aid.

I think I will try again on LC...although...I have agar, so why not agar...eh? maybe both...just trying to make the most of my 4 remaining syringes.
