Just when I thought they were gone forever, I found a single specimen growing from my grass pile in the back yard. I figured I?d be nice and take some macro shots of the mushroom to help people out with identification. So here ya have it, some nice, clean, up close pics:
A general pic of the mushroom
Cap and stem, the dark line on the stem is where it broke when I picked it(not veil remnants, they have no veil).
An overexposed pic of the gill structure of Panaeolus subbalteatus. The gills are NOT BLUE, I just forgot to turn the damn flash off, and the flash gave off a bluish tint.
A very close up shot of the gills. This is the color they should be(they?re actualy darker than they are in this pic). If you look very closely you can see a shimmering black dot, thats a bug that was on the gills
Hope this helps some people out with identifcation.
Peace out, -Gumby

RIP Matt, your friendship and your contributions to the world of fungi will be missed. Unfortunately we never got to hunt together.

Eh... its a not foenisecci, it's a subb. The print is jet black, I'll take a pic if you'd like. And to who ever asked, Pan subbs grow almost everywhere in the US.
