saliva drug tests, WTF?

I use medical marijuana and I went in to a supermarket for a job interview today. I was expecting the normal urine screening so I was prepared with syntetic urine. Unfortunately, pavillions threw me a curveball and saliva tested me. I smoked about 18 hours before the test and brushed my teeth right before the interview (dont know if that will help). How long can THC be detected in saliva and how accurate are the tests? This sucks because they want me to come in for training on saturday and they really need workers, but this damn saliva test may have screwed me over.

if you are legitimately prescribed marijuana, what are you complaining about?

Just list it as medication you take and be prepared to provide the proper documents to prove you are prescribed it, just as someone who is prescribed painkillers would have to do.

I am pretty sure that the supreme court ruled that federal laws override state laws in a situation very similar to this one. I am going to show them my documentation, hopefully it works if I dont pass.

I took a saliva test once and smoked the night before, you'll probably be fine.

I know people who have smoked 10 minutes before the saliva test, I believe its more of a judge your reaction test than an actual drug test, remain cool and you'll pass.

I was reading that detection times were very short, and this guy seemed despereate to hire me as this store just opened. He asked me where I go to college and then asked what department I want to work in(what a joke of an interview :thumbup: ).  Then it was, ok training for the deli counter is on saturday, welcome aboard.  I think if I have documentation this guy may just let it slide if I do fail the drug test.

If it was more of a judge your reaction typ etest Im fine. He asked if they could do a drug test and I immediately said sure. He also was telling me about a guy in here a few days ago that admitted to shooting H between his toes so no one could see the marks, wtf?

Your look golden then, they use it at factory jobs around me and then will only piss test you if you fuck up big somehow.

saliva tests are terrible at detecting thc. I've been saliva tested 3 times, 2 of those times i had smoked earlier that day, and one time i was actually high as fuck as i was taking the test. all 3 times the test came out negative. Don't worry man chances are you'll be fine.

Are saliva tests that unreliable? The police here in Australia have brought them in as random roadside tests - like the breatho for booze.
I've been shit scared every time I drive - but if they fail so often.. (The cops here would have you beleive its 48 hours detectable for THC, MDMA & .. other stuff..)
