using pine needles rather than straw?
    #836030 - 08/22/02 02:31 PM (16 years, 1 day ago)

I was wondering if you could use soaked pine needles instead of straw. Has anyone tried this? I ask because my friend is going to grow in his yard and there are already a bunch of pine needles on the ground. I figured if pine needles work then we wouldnt have to go get straw. Has anyone tried it?

So I can just mow the lawn and dry out the grass. Then do I put the grass clippings on top of the mycelium/ compost/ shit? or do I mix it in?

We have many Pine forest here in South Africa and I can tell you now from experience that certain species of Cubensis do grow on pine but these species have adapted over years.
So a similar species cloned from outdoors will work.
But there are sooo many better substrates to work with.
I`ve also noticed Aminitas tend to grow well near pine.
