Going Tree Planting!!

So I finally decided to hit up treeplanting this summer.  After years of telling me how awesome it is, my buddy finally convinced me to do it.  I am getting really stoked.  I have my gear list put together, and am in the process of gathering the rest of the items. 

I was just wondering if anyone had advice on getting ready for planting? 

My physical conditioning isnt the best it could be (due to a long recovery from a serious ankle injury, all healed now though), and my hands are like little girlie hands (except for the mad nail driving calluses on my finger tips). 

I dont really know what specific advice to ask for as this is a whole new world for me, so anything you can think of would be very appreciated.

EDIT:  I should add that my first day of planting is on May 6th, so just under 2 weeks from now.

I just got hired to do treeplanting as well. Starting the same date, I just bought my boots in fact. I'm looking forward to it, it seems like a good opportunity to make some serious $$. My job last summer was casual/on call so I didn't have a schedule at all, I'm looking forward to the consistent hours and weekends off. I'm on a crew based out of town. Are you on one of the camps?

Yep, staying in a camp.  I look forward to living in a tent in the middle of nowhere for 4 months :laugh:
