Co-worker with a big mouth

Ok, so I started a new job this week.  The company has different branches around the area.  A girl who works at a different branch has known me from 1999 on.  She used to sell weed to me and smoke with me.  Since we both now have professional type jobs, we had an agreement to keep that part of our lives secret.  So tonight, I go to my first company party.  I start talking to a guy from the same branch as my old smoker friend.  Here's how the conversation went.....

Him:  You know.  Did you smoke up before you came out?
Me:  Uh.....no.
Him:  I'm sorry, Crystal just told me that you two used to smoke up.
Me:  Well, you can't believe everything you hear.


Eventually, I could tell that it was OK to admit my terrible secret to him.  But it was weird, because I came from HR and I'm not used to letting anyone know my terrible secret.  I'm used to being a robot.  So a few minutes later, I went over to Crystal to let her know that I knew that she had narc'ed me out.  I wasn't really mad, since it was actually a relief to know that some big players in the company smoked weed and that it wasn't such a big deal.  So I was more or less just breaking her balls about it.  This is how that conversation went.........

Crystal:  I didn't tell him.  He asked me.

I didn't want to create bad blood between me and Crystal, but that was the dumbest answer.  I wanted to say "Ok, so when he asks you, you tell him NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yeah, I'm actually glad that I know how laid back the company is about it, but I'm still pissed at Crystal for blowing my cover after I asked her to keep it a secret.

The guy who asked me about it (Chris) was talking with me about it later on and he was narc'ing so many people out to me. I mean, I like knowing that one of the big wigs does weed, coke and pills and that these other people smoke but Jesus. This guy has such a loose tongue and it's weird to know that my terrible secret is going to get out to all smokers at the company. I'm not used to this. I'm used to guarding that secret with my life.

i would have just been like "yeah" lol. it would have sound way better. then just say say no and that your joking. say that you use to and remember that you are cooler.

Sounds awkward. I don't really prefer that people know my drug use habits either. To me, that information is private until I consider you a friend; not general knowledge.

Yeah, it's no big deal. I'm just used to being in HR with all Republican co-workers. It was a big deal then. I guarded that secret as if I was a Jew in Nazi Germany. So this laid back atmosphere is really, really weird to me.

There are so many people who use and sell drugs at my work, but there people who aren't cool with just like there are people who don't do drugs but are but not smart about it when it comes to being low key about. Like when you hurt yourself and some starts laughing out loud saying your gonna have to take a drug test and when say your not gonna report it because it's just minor and I don't have to even leave the work station to take care of myself, then the bitch starts acting like some know it all cunt getting pissed saying you have to and that I'm fucking stupid despite the fact the fucking whore with 3 kids and is only 21, not to mention no authority. The bitch could have got me fired, she's never worked in factory doesn't seem to understand that reporting the injury would be senseless unless I had to get medical attention. I could have pounded her face out, i don't know how I hold it back.

Well I hold myself back and I always have because I know once I loose it's over I know I have a temper problem that builds up in me like no other.
