If things are as you have described them, you made an excellent decision. Take it from someone who has been working for over three decades (and run businesses of my own), this is an opportunity that comes along very seldom in life, and almost never at such a young age.

I can see almost no downside from grabbing this opportunity. Worst case scenario is that you eventually decide it's not really what you want to do for the rest of your life and you sell out your share to someone else.

Seriously, chances like this are so rare in life (in the case of most people they are non-existent) that it would be criminal to pass it up. Grab it with both hands and run with it.
