Has anybody used earthworm castings as a substrait? How did they work?

I've heard good success stories using castings with straw in bulk substrate teks... I think bluhoney has a friend that did that.

In my area, worm castings seem to be quite a bit more expensive and most certainly less available than manure. What advantages would worm castings have over manure?
Peace

search, many people have success with castings, and their results have been reported thoroughly.
Why are they better than manure though? Why is manure better than straw? Why is straw better than compost? Is cow manure better than horse manure? Nope, just different bulk subs, use what works best for you.
Quality does vary somewhat. If it looks like it's got a lot of wood in it, it's probably low quality. Order some from gardensalive.com or from mushroom people for good quality castings if your local source isn't very good.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.
