Manure in substrate....PF style

Just recently I decided that I was not satisfied with the nurtient content in BRF so I some dehydated cow munure to the substrate to kick it up a notch.

The mixture consisted of the same amounts of vermiculite and BRF but an extra 2 cups of shit and a small amount of extra water was added to even out the moisture content per 12 1/2 pint jars.

Three days after innoculation with oven tek foul smell was observed coming from within icubation chamber. Jars were all checked and even though there was no visual confirmation of contamination it was more than apparent that 48 jars were doomed.

I just have to figure out what happened so this wont ever happen again. The only thing I can think of is that you cant get away with just boiling jars with the added shit in them but have to pressure cook them for complete steralization. Yea I know that it sounds pretty foolish to have doing this for so long now without a pressure cooker but I have always had great sucess just boiling jars. If anyone would be so kind to elaborate on this it would be greatly appreciated.

I've never worked with manure before but from what I think i remember of posts I read is that you dont want to dehydrate your manure before you use it...it should be pasteurized..which I believe is boiling the manure or compost in a bag on the stove...not sure what the correct temp that needs to be reached is though...also..were you just innoculating the manure???? You cant do that..you have to use some sort of spawn to get it to colonize...and again..I've never used manure or anything like that before so I could be wrong

I use a powdered manure as a substrate with verm PF style no problems - maybe just PC for longer - we worth it for size of mush
