china is a nightmare

i read a recent article in http://www.motherjones.com/
great monthly
i,ve known about their gov. taking over tibet and whatnot but this article was mostly about pollution and how poorly run the country is
some items from the article-sometimes they have random coal fires which burn out of control and release all kinds of noxious molecules into the air,half the population drinks contaminated water mostly feces from humans and fauna,a 4th of the country is desert and they chopped down most of their trees and now illegaly log other countries trees in SEA,the yangtze river is the equivelent of a sewer sytem, they just dump all their waste in the water sources
they also have a history of being somewhat retarded like instituting the 4 pest campaign,

they eradicated most of the sparrows but with no sparrows around swarms of locusts came in and decimated the crops



anyway sounds like a real clusterfuck over there

My advice is to find those things that give pleasure and do them often without too much attachment and relax and wait for the show to end.

I like free markets and all. Truly I do, at least in general, but there needs to be some kind of oversight in recognition of sustainability. Life works the same way, on a bunch of sustainable systems. Why not honor what made us what we are and take some lessons? Nature FTW!
