So sore. And tired. Yet, gonna dose later.
    #8233877 -

Last night was my third barbacking shift and my first real run through the ringer...all four bartenders were slammed and I had a lot of restocking to do and I had to switch out seven kegs. The walk-in fridge was a clusterfuck because that afternoon we'd had a fresh delivery of all the types of keg beer we serve.  Getting the empties out was a pain in my mothafuckin' ass. I was scrambling like a monkey over cold hard metal using my scrawny self as best as possible to get the empty kegs up in the air and out. Fun, but exhausting. But - definitely lucrative. Made bank last night.

I had brought a sugar cube to work dosed with two hits of acid, my plan had been to dose right when work was done and then trip through the night but when I got done I was so exhausted I couldn't even think of tripping. Still sore today, still tired, but definitely thinking about dosing around 7 PM or so and tripping well into the night...don't have to work tomorrow until around 3 PM.

Got a lot of thinking I want to get done. This book I'm reading, The Holographic Universe, really has me pondering reality in interesting ways and I think a psychedelic experience would really lend itself to exploring those thoughts. I'm thinking a night of writing, headphones, swirling colors, and perhaps some euphoric feelings of oneness with the universe would do me a load of good. Shit. I love LSD.

Anyway. Just felt like rambling to my Shroomery peeps.

It's been a while since I've tripped, maybe I'll seek out some mushrooms or try a grow out.

Sounds good.

I intend on having a session like that soon, I'm reading a decent book too called 'natures numbers', about all the patterns and coincidences that emerge throughout nature. Fascinating stuff .. However I don't need LSD to think  like that (I can't dose cause I have exams pretty imminently), but a few bowls of good weed has me pondering the fabric of the universe, in fact it even has swirly colourful patterns as well

Anyways, happy trails fellow voyager

Interesting book for stoned pondering.

I was reading that a bit before bed last night, quite high, and got a kick out of...

Quote:
Such a situation is comparable to the one quantum physicists encountered when they first uncovered evidence that quanta coalesce into particles only when they are being observed.  Physicist Nick Herden, a supporter of this interpretation, says this has sometimes caused him to imagine that behind his back the world is always "a radically ambiguous and ceaselessly flowing quantum soup."  But whenever he turns around and tries to see the soup, his glance instantly freezes and turns it back into ordinary reality.

Hit the bong and think about that one for awhile.

Yeah I don't think that I *need* LSD to get this thinking done however I think they go hand-in-hand. Stanislav Grof, who did some of THE pioneering LSD research in the past, endorsed this book and wrote a brief statement to preface it.  There is a section that features his LSD research prominently.

The holographic model of the mind and of reality, as I read about it, reminds me of what I feel I've already learned from LSD - that each particle of existence is a window into every other particle of existence. That everything contains information about everything else. I hope to penetrate deeper into that with the aid of LSD, and just let my fingers do the walking over my keyboard.

In fact, there did not seem to be any limit to what Grof's LSD subjects could tap into. They seemed capable of knowing what it was like to be every animal, and even plant, on the tree of evolution. They could experience what it was like to be a blood cell, an atom, a thermonuclear process inside the sun, the consciousness of the entire planet, and even the consciousness of the entire cosmos. More than that, they displayed the ability to transcend space and time, and occasionally they related uncannily accurate precognitive information. IN an even stranger vein they sometimes encountered nonhuman intelligences during their cerebral travels, discarnate beings, spirit guides from "higher planes" of consciousness," and other suprahuman entities.

I have to read one of his (Grof) books, because things like that are hard for me to accept at face value. I'm not at all sure I believed that when I read it.

Mmmm, LSD is so great for introspection and reflection. I've never had a bad LSD trip. It just makes my normal perception that much richer and beautiful.

May you have a wonderful trip man!  :chemistry:

Might have to look a bit into that book. Right now I am just reading some philosophy type stuff, I am in ancient philosophy right now and enjoy it. But I am partial to more modern existentialist stuff (Sartre's Nausea is good, and I am working on Nietzsche's On the Genealogy of Morality which is great)

Wish I had some LSD though

Oh well... longer the wait sweeter the taste

Man the Holographic Universe is a 10+ read easily. It is so well put together and the stuff about holograms and mind over matter in religious experiances is so convincing. I like the story about that guy who could make stuff appear and disappear and made that rare Acorn thing encased in Gold for the author I believe.

Been years since I read it but when your done you wont look at the brain as a organ anymore, youll look at it as a holographic projector. I would talk the book up more but dont want to ruin it for you, just let me know what you think when your done. Oh yeah and have fun.

Following the legal suppression of LSD use in the late 1960s, Grof went on to discover that many of these states of mind could be explored without drugs and instead by using certain breathing techniques in a supportive environment. He continues this work today under the title "Holotropic Breathwork"

However, I guess its always nice to have some chemically aided introspection.. If I was you I'd try and meditate.. Its something I've always wanted to do whilst tripping (I've only ever sort of done it on dmt, but I don't think that counts) yet I can never sit still long enough to do it

Sounds like a great book. I'll have to check it out.

I always found that trips were better (and cleaner) when I was well-rested and fresh. Preferably about 3-4 hours after I first woke up. Pro tip: snort a couple of fat lines of coke just before the come-up. You'll feel that coke buzz for 15 hours without snorting any more.

If you're into such things. I don't use either anymore, and don't miss them.

You mentioned Grof earlier.  Surely you've read his The Holotropic Mind, yeah?  If not, I'd highly recommend it.  I came upon that book at the same time as The Holographic Universe, and their content overlaps a lot, but I read Mind and never picked up Universe.  Maybe I'll give it a read.

Okay. 9 PM. Gonna dose. Gotta leave for work tomorrow at 4 or maybe 4:30 at the latest. Gonna be tripping till dawn. Then power nap? Got a klonopin to induce that should I need it. Just got some work done from home to minimize how much work I have to do tomorrow afternoon before I go in.
