Environmental Science Paper (Need topics)

I have a research paper due tomorrow. I work best under pressure and with a few beers in me. That time is now. The only thing I'm missing is a topic. I was actually thinking about doing it on that HAARP or whatever topic that was on here about the government creating/changing weather, but I was wondering if anyone else had a better idea for a topic?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I can't imagine writing 6 pages on that. I didn't even read the full article/report when it came out, didn't interest me all that much.

Another good suggestion, and I don't mean to shoot everything you come up with down, but my professor ties that into pretty much every lecture. He's big on water conservation. I'd feel like I didn't put much effort into it if I did it on something he talks about in every class.

I like being abstract and unique when I write papers, but in the case of college research papers the only real leverage I have in that area is my topic. I'm looking for something outside of the box, something that you can debate, something that isn't known to most people.

Plastic bags as in how they pollute the environment? That might have worked in my 10th grade environmental science class.



So far I was thinking-


Government controlling weather and the implications of that.

Nanotoxicology.

The environment impact of burying our dead.

Urban sprawl.

Im only trying to help here, and im a university student, and Im sure plastic bags would be acceptable!

How about agricultural runoff and "Dead Zones"?

I'm writing a Poly Sci paper on that right now.

Or maybe write about soil microbes and their effect on plant health (and how we kill them)? it would be easy to tie that into Environmental science with all the pollution

Nah, we've talked about all of that in class before. I'm aiming to teach my professor something. Thanks for the suggestions though.

You probably already picked one but how about alternative sources for energy amd what our current choices do to our world. You could even explore the reason why we are not using some other form for everything from our transportation to our homes needs?

You're probably already writing the paper, but there's a ton of information out there on urban sprawl, how it changes the Earth's albedo, and the implications of such changes. Interesting stuff...
