Hey me too! I'm gonna have to get a job as soon as I move off to my new apartment though (one week before class starts).. that way I'll be able to afford things besides ramen noodles.

Are you going into Philosophy Ellemy? I think I remember you mentioning something about that..

I'm still not sure at this point (I'd like to take a few Philosophy classes first) but it's definately something I am thinking about.  I'm even thinking about Entheobotany (hehe).  I'm going to give myself a good window of time before I decide for sure.   What are you going to major in?

Everyone always asks me that.   To be honest, I'm not too concerned about finding a job that caters to a Philosophy major.  In fact, it hardly matters at all to me.  I want to go to college for the knowledge, to learn and better myself.  I'll take whichever path my heart leads me to, even if "society" doesn't give me a good payday for it.

In this city, most jobs don't care what you major in, only that you have a degree.  Part of the reason I want a degree is because I am writing a novel and a degree would look good to a agent or publisher.  Philosophy is just a bonus, if I decide to major in that.  My husband (who supports me) has even encouraged me to take Philosophy so that we can learn and help one another.

Maybe it's not the most "acceptable" way of doing things, but when have I ever cared about that??

love,

*me*

I'm enrolled in the "College of Business" at my school, but I really don't even have an interest in business.. It's ok though, I'm taking a really cool first semester, since I didn't make it in time for the math and english classes to still have open seats

First semester line-up as of right now:
Intro to Anthropology
World Civilizations II
Music of People: The World
Intro to Political Science

seems to me that I'd be better off with a bit of a different major, judging by the classes I picked.

I hate admitting to it, but I'm an accountant.  Actually, I fuck around online all day while I pretend to look at pages full of numbers and nobody realizes it.

I also "work" at AM/PM at nights, but all I do is get stoned and stand around eating hot dogs. :stoned:

I do odd jobs- recently I've been helping some friends with a remodeling job- sanding floors, hauling rocks, digging, painting, and tiling.  I've had 2 dudes offer me jobs sanding and refinishing floors but I don't know if I'm interested.

I sell on eBay, and just got a job selling a shitload of stuff from a friend that sold his storefront.

I still don't know what I want to be, it's awful.  Here are the things I most want to do/be (doobie?).

a yoga teacher

a psychologist/psychiatrist

a nurse/psychiatric nurse

a mycologist

a botanist specializing in entheobotany.

This sucks.

I work for United Parcel Service (Or United Pot Smokers) at the airport here in Milwaukee, one of the busiest hubs in the midwest.

If you ship anything that goes across the country, I probably put my grubby hands on it sometime...

Past jobs include:

Housekeeper
Snake handler with travelling reptile show
Web designer
Grocery store boy

I install traffic signals for a living for a company called MasTec. Sometimes it's exciting and others its just plain hard work!

I've done everything form framing to raising hogs on a hog farm. I was even in the Navy unfortunately. I got booted for trying to be an individual instead of a mindless automaton. If anyone is considering the millitary, don't!

In the future I plan to return to school and earn some type of degree.
Still not sure what I want to do though. I'm interested in so many things!

I work my balls off running an outdated CNC machine in the dirtiest, filthiest machine shop y'all ever saw. VERY dangerous bizz.. (so dangerous, y'all wouldn't believe it)
I make the good-ass cash, tho' and gots a house with almost 20 acres, so I am a "lifer".....

That looks like bluegrass under those horses Prisoner#1!

I troubleshoot printing presses and do color work in product developement for a large printing corp. It isnt the best job in the world ,but it pays the bills and keeps me busy so I dont lose my mind.
Oh,yeah I also have to supervise the production teams that work the presses which is my least favorite aspect of my job!

i just finished some school, and am moving to Aarhus, Denmark to go back to school in January... right now i'm doing computer programming (mainly Perl (mod-Perl), SQL (through Linux), and Apache based stuff, although sometimes jackass clients insist on using ASP and MS-SQL) for a friend of mine who has his own company out of his house... greatest job ever (at least for the next 5 months... anymore than that and i'm gonna get really sick of computers...)

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/ thats how i get here its in my favorites You should update your bookmark to http://www.shroomery.org/forums/ yea, wtf!  i'm not talkin' about the Main Index  i'm talkin' about the MAIN.. index.  where it lists the most recent 5 posts or so.  it's been displayin' the same ones for days now.  i think someone needs to fix this problem.  i don't care about the main index of the BB showing the amount of new threads/posts.. .but the MAIN index.html of the shroomery should list the recently posted posts... 'cause otherwise, why do i have http://www.shroomery.org/index.html as my main page?
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/?Cat=  There is something similar what you regard already built in in the board software.

If you look at the bottom of the main index.
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/?Cat=

you will see

Past 7 days  Not if you have to type them in.

I type in
shroomery.org/forums

you type in shroomery.org/forums/

Which is shorter?  Oh look theres other forums click me   I was looking around and noticed that the bottom of  the main index page it says there are no birthdays today. Yet if you click on the  calendar link and then on  January 23 2004 it shows that it is Grovesk8ters Bday.

Just thought it was courious and perhaps an error.Anno posted how to edit the host file at www.*************.org but the post was promptly deleted by an admin.

I can only remember how to edit the file in XP, perhaps Anno or someone else can help with the other operating systems.

In Windows XP go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and then open notepad. Drag and drop the hosts file into notepad and you should see something like this:

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97    rhino.acme.com          # source server
#      38.25.63.10    x.acme.com              # x client host

127.0.0.1      localhost

Add to the bottom line of text 69.28.174.165 www.shroomery.org and click save.

Access the shroomery by the following link: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/I fixed this, before when I typed in: www.shroomery.org/forums
i would get to the main page where I wasn't logged in... but if I clicked on any link, I would be logged in... quite annoying.

The problem was that /index.php was redirecting to: ubbthreads.php instead of http://www.shroomery.org/forums/
so my browser for some reason went to:
http://shroomery.org/forums/ instead of www.shroomery...

now it's fixedPris you work here
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/?Cat=&C=3

I work at a retail garden center selling plants and landscaping supplies. It's a pretty good job. Get to work outside, and enjoy learning about plants and stuff. It would be a great job if it weren't for the customers
