Grow lights

Would i be able to use cristmas lights to grow mushrooms if not i have this old shop light would that works i think this shop light is a flourecent would that type of light do any harm to the potentcy if neither these ligts are good what would be the best light to grow mushies so i can go to the store and buy one

i use a 15w Flor and it works good..

are you talking about the christmas lights that you wrap around the tree?? if so why would you wanna use those theres too many?

Go with the flouro light, becuase it emmits no heat. Light doesn't affect your mushroom's potency, it's simply used to tell the mushies which way to grow.

so would my shop light work its a flourecent just not sure how many watts it is it doesnt say on the light would this be ok to use its one of those tube lights.

i have also seen people use christmas lights with success! sorry cant find any posy right now but do a search if your interested. the only problem is they produce heat. good luck

Natural sunlight is best, but any source of light will help, the shop light sounds better to use. bluhoney
