Does it matter if butter is salted or unsalted when making brownies?

I have some salted butter. I've been reading people say unsalted. Does it really matter? If so, why?

doesnt matter, they say unsalted because they're hippies and all health conscious and shit

utter is a healthier choice than margarine, in fact it's all
I eat, no potatoes, meat or leafy green thiings, just salty butter :smirk:

Say I have 14 grams of some regs. How much butter should I use? 2 sticks?

a little less than the equivalent amount of veggie oil

if it calls for 1 cup of oil, use 3/4 cups of butter

Cool, one more quick question.

Simmer it on LOW for a few hours?
Then Strain
Then use the butter in the recipe

I just found out I know somebody who would sell an ounce of middies for $90....not bad for around here.  Tax returns are coming up (as soon as I get my lazy ass to do em!)...I think I may pick up a QP and make some brownies :laugh:  That would be dope!

I think I am going to use a double boiler instead of sauteing the butter. TO decrease the chance of burning.

OK I decided to not saute and use a 'double boil' method. I do not think I have a double boiler so...

can I just boil water, add butter, then add buds and do it that way?

no, put a bowl over the top of a pot of hot water, make sure
it's not to small that it falls in, it's a cheap double boiler

Sweet thanks for your help pris. I am 30 minutes into making the cannibutter through the double boiler method. The bottom is rolling boiling but the top is just simmering. Which is good I take it.
