Good Bug Zapper to fight Fungus Gnats??
    #8096308 -

Ive tried coffee grounds, vinegar, bleach bombing, diatomaceous earth in house-plants, high frequency sound emitter thats supposed to get rid of bugs, and fly paper. nothing has worked

i use uncased substrate so i cant be DE or other stuff like gnat-x in with casings like people suggest

a bug zapper is my final hope

anyone have any success with one? i look at reviews on amazon and it seems that bug zappers dont work at all for like half the people that use them

i need an outdoor one cause it has to hang in my fruiting chamber

please help!

ive never used a bug zapper, but the ultimate way to get rid of bugs is positive pressure. If you can add a coolmist or something to your FC it will work great. You just need to make your CO2 expunging holes are a little smaller than the diameter of the hoses from the coolmist. This, combined with alot of fly paper outside the FC has never failed for me.

You also may not be pasteurizing fully.

Fungus gnats are attracted to the smell of the fungus, not light, therefore a zapper will be of no use. Nor will 'positive pressure' since a cool mist won't produce enough that a bug can't fly right through it. Don't worry though, they don't eat much. I rarely even get concerned with them. If their numbers get too high, simply suck them out of the area with your vacuum cleaner hose.

i've not had gnats yet, but i hear a small amount of whiskey or beer in a cup will attract and drown them.

Plus bug zappers make ozone, which is not good for YOU, since I assume you're doing this indoors.

Personally I suggest the fly paper.

The bright yellow fly paper has worked for me.

Or this kind seems to work well too

Put a few glasses of Coke around your fruiting chambers.

I've noticed that they like pop.

They fall in and die...too.
