Kind of a grey area when it comes to picking. It really is unlikely that they would bust you, unless you had tons of them. But in regards to just picking them, as long as you are on public land ( not private or a nature sanctuary) then they wont even notice or care. But yes, technically, it is illegal to pick them here.

I live in Canada and i did some research on picking mushrooms. There is some bi-law that says it is illegal to pick them and re-plant them. The only province where there is some give is B.C. They have diiferent laws.. All i say is don't get caught!!
