Great Work Mj. You should look at getting this listed in the finding section for future reference.------------------ "I think of myself as an intelligent, sensitive human being with the soul of a clown which always forces me to blow it at the most important moments." J.M. Northern Touch Spores

mj, the Georgia post is not accurate. There are definantly cubensis here, and cope. species, also pan. subbs. We discussed this about two days ago. But still, great work compiling all of that information. ~SS

HEy everyone, Thanks for the moral support.I just would like to ay about the shrooms. Anything new or unpublished in Georgia will be taken care of by Lizard King who will deposit some of his findings to Gaston Guzman of the Instotuto de Ecologia. He is the leading expert in the taxonomyof the Psilocybes. AS for sightings and reporting of species in specific locations, I am afrain to say that professional mycologists will not recopgnize them as such unless specimens have been depostied and recorded in a herbarium. This is the way it is done and I can not have any control ofver it. As for P. tampanensis, very few people have ever found this species and when they did it was never more than a few mushrooms. It was Pollock's cultivation of this species which provided most of the earlier growers with the means to cultivate the species. I do appreciate your reports though and I will make not of them for future reference Happy shrooming and to all a good night, LAter. Have a shroomy day. mjshroomer. And thanks GGreatOne234 for bringing this back up. If you here from Ythan or Aphex, why don't someone asked them to post this in the general information section og the Shroomery or somewhere where people can easily access it.

YESSSS mj.But we should move the discussion of that idea into the Suggestion Forum...think up a proposal topic for the idea with all the beneficial reasons to create such a thing. ***Reason number One*** Doing this would conserve space on the bulletin boards. Every month there must be at least thirty new topics from people asking what grows in their state. And a lot of those states overlap because people dont have time to search through all the posts made when all that they really need is mj's worldwide shroom location service. heheheh I think that mj more than deserves to have his shroom locator guide in the shroomries general info section. One thing to consider is to have it as an ONGOING (constantly updated and corrected) list of information (state-by-state province-by-province). Make up a proposal [This message has been edited by GGreatOne234 (edited June 13, 2000).]

Great work John, it includes some information I've been seeking this past week. That list should definately be put somewhere for easy reference. New discoveries in the world of mycology happen all the time, if anybody here finds an unusual mushroom in thier area, take a voucher specimen and deposit it at your local herbarium or university. BC alone is the size of 20 states but mostly unpopulated and unexplorered my mycologists, there are many undiscovered species out there. Find one and they'll name it after you! And cubensis DO grow in the artic....I sent some a spore syringe to an eskimo!------------------ Visit the Spore Lab at: http://www.sunshine.net/www/1700/sn1730 It's a trip you'll never forget!

There may be shrooms in Virginia. The ones on this list were seen by professional mycologists or something and that is what warranted their inclusion on this list. There is a definite possibility that there are shrooms in Va that have not been reported by mycologists and that is why they are not on the list. I found several A. Muscaria in some pine woods in MD several years ago and they are not included on MD's list. Try looking to see what species are present in neighboring states, and go from there.

Very helpful list of mushrooms. I think your right Charles, The Shroomery should be outfitted with something like this permanently, without haveing to search back 50-60 days to find it. Mapping the Mycelial Network A North American Distribution of Psychoactive Fungi by John W. Allen, Jochen Gartz and Gaston Guzman. Yeah thats some bad shit right there. heheheh

I think it would be cool to have this list of shrooms available from right here at the mushroom hunting boards. Something to click on that says "See what grows in your area!". Sort of like how they have had notes to click on for "Moderation Election" and "Moderator Help Needed"We've already got it listed at the General Info section, but, Why? Who would think to look in the general info section for it? It would have made better sense to put it at the Grow/Find section.. And it would make even better sense to have it right here at the Mushroom Hunting Boards.

Great list, I'd love to see it have it's own forum. I have a couple suggestions if you don't mind. First, I understand that only mycologists can officially register a shroom in a state, but could there be two lists. One is the official one and the other would be an unofficial sitings list of boomers people say they have found in their state, just so we know they might be out there. Also, pics for each if possible. I know there is another sec for that, but in Pa. the only listing is Gymnopilus aeruginosus and there's no pics of it in this site or any of my shroom hunter books. Keep up the great work
