Hey Gund, did you have any luck?

I got alot of square mileage, so chances are good that if they can grow there, then i will find them.

I didn't mean to sound like a newbie bitch or anything.

Your best bet would be to wait untill fall and go picking after its been raining alot.I found liberty caps in Kamloops(B.C)which has very similar weather to Alberta.

good luck

Hello, I used to live in Calgary, but never found any psychoactive mushrooms there. I have had a few friends report Panaeolus Subbalteaus from just south of edmonton in mid-summer. Also a few mixed reports of people successfully establishing outdoor beds of psilocybe cyanescens there. Best time to look is when it rains in calgary, as the weather changes so fast.

I'll have to say there's not much of a chance of finding any active shrooms. But, you should come across some non-active Psilocybes and Panaeolous. But, it doen?t hurt to look. You never know what you will find.

MC Face - Interesting that you have found lib caps in Kamloops dry environment. Last time I was there, a friend a I went on a hike and found a small cactus.

For real, I'd like to see a Canadian Cubensis! I haven't seen one as of yet. You know why? Because they don't grow there. Last year, psylo found some non-active Stropharias(sp?) that looked almost identical to cubensis picked in the gulf coast region of the USA. But they weren't Cubensis. I dout what you found was either. Did you ingest what you suspected to be cubensis? If so how were the effects if any? You probably dumped a spent cake or 2 in the pasture or something and forgot about it.

If you found(still find) what you think to be Cubensis, do us all a favor and send in a print. I would love a cold weather cubie strain. Also, contact a professional mycologist so that your findings can be offically documented.
