It was a fun time :) He came up on tuesday and that evening we hit the weilii patch and picked a fair amount of mushrooms, and afterwards stopped by the subb field to see what was fruiting out there. We only came out with a small handful of subbs, but I think the weilii made up for it :) I guess its getting a bit hot around here for the subbs, they have pretty much stopped fruiting for the time being. He got some great pics while he was here that I'm sure will be posted in the next few days. All and all it was a great time. We camped out nearby the weilii patch, drank a few beers and played guitar. GGreatOne can jam on the guitar, I can't play all that much, but it was nice to hear someone else with some talent.
Your next doo, you need to come on down and get in on the weilii, I'd love to take you out picking some day :) Maybe we could all 3 meet up some day, hit the weilii patch, then head to florida meet up with the shroom wizard and pick some copes and cubes, that be awesome.
BTW: when GG gets back on the boards, ask him about the rope swing Lizard made him swing on :) hehe

Hey LK,
It's something I really would like to do, get together with you and GG, and do some mushroom hunting.I didn't know you're both guitar players. Now that I know, I'll have to take my guitar along, maybe even bring my banjo(I've just started learning to play the banjo).
I'm glad the GGreatOne got to pick some of the weiliis. I know it made his day.Can't wait to see his pics.
If we go to Florida, we'll have to keep a low profile, cause if the state gets wind of it, they may call out the Florida National Guard, to guard the mushroom fields ( Ha ! ).Just joking of course.
I'm glad you two got to hunt together, I know ya'll had a great time.I hate I missed it.

Thats not just any dead bird mitch, thats a hummingbird, probably pretty rare to find one of those :) You lucky son of a gun, here I am stuck picking weilii and you get all the dead birds.

Hah.. That is a hummingbird! You find him infront of a window?
Happens to me all the time.. I'll be sitting there eating dinner then BAM! Hummingbird hits the kitchen window and falls on the deck. It's sad =( Maybe we should put some of those black hawk stickers on the window.

Mitch, I would mount him over my fireplace if I were you. I'm hoping to bag me one next season, to put between my spotted owl and ivory billed woodpecker.Those little rascals are hard to hit.

They are very lovely birds.Also very aggresive.Lots of times when they smash into windows, it's because they see their reflections, think it's another hummer, and charge.I've seen hummingbirds knock themselves out cold doing this. They are great birds to watch, always active.

That was truly amazing hanging out there in the "weilli forest". Man, unbelieveable. Georgia is a spectacular place. And I was very impressed with the lizard and friends hospitality and thank you very much again and again. Good people.
