Just got out of rehab

Well, I just got home from in-patient rehab.  Still got 4-6 weeks of "intensive outpatient rehabilitation", 5 days a week.  For those of you who don't know, I had gotten into a pretty bad problem with poppy pods, having about 3 doses every day, sometimes mixing klonopins, k4's, heroin, vicodin, or percocets into the ruitine...

I ended up smashing the back of my car up into a tree and pulling a knife on my father when he started coming towards me yelling about my drug use.  I didn't really want to cut him, it was just instince, but he ended up pinning me against the car and grabbing the knife and throwing it to the side, which it was a flip blad knife so it flipped back and cut his finger to the bone.  So I checked myself in to a local rehab center, stayed there just long enough to get most of the detox over with, and now i've got NA meetings to go to...

I'm pretty sure I will be quitting all drugs now, except I'm going find a psychiatrist that will give me a low dose of some kind of benzo because I have pretty bad social anxiety and that is the only thing that has ever TRULY helped me.  Also I might occassionally take very small amounts of LSD, because LSD has always encouraged me to quit my drug use in the past and I know I can use it as a very useful tool in quitting.

My closest friends have also come to the same decision, to quit using everything, so we will have each others support which will be very helpful.  I could have ended up alot worse than I did, and I'm not willing to risk getting into the same position again or an even worse position again.

I'll still probably be posting here at the shroomery, if just in the pub, because I really enjoy talking with the lot of ya :sun:

I'll just have to make sure to stay out of ODD or my willpower just might run out on me :wink:

hey man its always good to see someone get out of the game.. my brother's birthday just passed on the 9th and unfortunately he didnt get out of the game in time... 21 years old and methadone got ahold of him. now he lives on in the bodies of three others.. his kidneys and liver gave them a second and chance at life that he didnt get.. dont let the game get you like it got him... best wishes

Well, good luck with quitting drugs. I know opiates are particularly hard to kick. But you might want to stay away from the LSD too. :sun:

i'd avoid the benzo's. those things are evil, it's amazing how quickly your addiction to them sneaks up on you.

Good luck.  I personally wouldn't worry about LSD except for the fact that at this point in your life you may want to completely remove yourself from the drug scene.

But I'm sure you know what's goin on.

I'm just going to try and see if I can use a very small amount of lsd, not enough for visuals or anything, because in the past it has always put me in an incredibly introspective state of mind I'm not able to achieve otherwise, and it usually ends up with plans on quitting and getting my life in order. So I'm pretty sure it really will help straighten up my life, but if that first try doesn't work out, I'll be getting rid of all the rest of it immediately.

I've dealt with xanax addiction before, it is a horrible thing to withdraw from. I now know better than to use daily or frequently. When I do get the script I will only be taking them on an as-needed basis. Mainly when going into more populated social situations, which honestly doesn't happen to me more then 2-3 times a week, especially now that I'm withdrawing from my college classes and putting those off until next fall semester so I can concentrate on my rehab and get away from all the drugs on campus.
