Poppies are blooming
    #800511 - 08/06/02 06:02 PM (14 years, 7 months ago)

Some seeds I planted in early summer. I was told they are giant opium poppys, but I don't know.

Very nice workman! I missed out on my spring planting, had way too much going on to start a poppy bed. But this fall, probably later this month I'm going to plant a nice big patch, I think fall is a better time in my region anyways. Our sping is almost non-exsistent, we go straight from winter to summer and poppies don't like the extreme GA heat and humidity. Our fall on the other hand is long and drawn out, often with temps in the 70's into december, and it starts off wet and rainy in september and ends dry as hell in november-december.

Anyways, nice plants, enjoy your flower arrangments

And fruit my mammillata damnit nah, I'm j/k. Keep me updated though, I like to hea how things go.

Take care,

LK,

I found this image at the somni-forum. It seems to be the same variety with but with less intense coloration. Apparently, soil conditions can cause color variation.

I haven't given up on that mammilata.
