"Politically Incorrect With Bill Maher" about Timothy Leary (google)

This is an episode of "Politically Incorrect With Bill Maher" from 1996. It has two of my favorite comedians of all time, Bill Maher and David Cross as well as Michelle Phillips of The Mamas And The Papas (who I love) as well as Robert Anton Wilson and Bob Guccione Jr. The subject of the show is Timothy Leary. Leary was supposed to have been at the show, but because he was dying, wasn't able to make it.

It's an interesting discussion. Bill Maher claims to have known Leary for 10 years, which I didn't know. He also insinuates that he had partied with Leary. Michelle Phillips corrects Maher who claims that Owsley acid was the last real LSD ever manufactured. To drive home her point, she claimed to have just recently taken LSD that she had found in her purse, saying that it was definitely the real thing. RAW claimed to have taken LSD 2 days ago, but I can't tell if he's joking or not. Anyway, check it out. I'm a huge Timothy Leary, David Cross and Bill Maher fan, so I loved it.

Lol np it was definitely worthwhile of being revived. I was surprised I'd never seen this clip I found this one very interesting especially for a mainstream television show.

I already liked David Cross but I gained a lot of respect for him. He was VERY well spoken here and made the best of a difficult situation in trying to make sure none of the dumb acid myths were perpetuated on national TV. The fucking guy that was there who "never tried any drugs or alcohol" was so useless. Unfortunately Bill Mahr's input was pretty uneducated too.

Too bad he couldn't live long enough to see them finally lift the Cup again...but I digress.

Leary's voice is dearly missed.  He was doing so much to help open-up our collective unconscious & it got over-shadowed by being chastised for his viewpoints. *sigh*  Great video, though, thanks for that. :smile:
