Teeth or eyes?

I was just part of a huge argument between family members.
One of them is missing a front tooth due to a car accident, yet also has really bad eyes. So he was wondering if it would be better to spend his money on lasik surgery so he would finally be able to see (because while he wears contacts, it is hard to focus sometimes and they have all their contact problems) rather than the tooth. Everyone was telling him he's stupid saying he needed the money for his tooth because that's what people notice first. If he wanted to impress the shallow people, he would need the tooth.
If he wanted to get anywhere they said, he would need the tooth. They asked him "would YOU trust someone with a missing tooth as a lawyer/businessman/clerk/whatever".
I think the eyes would be better. Wouldn't you rather be able to see without relying on something, first?

If he doesn't get his eyes fixed, he'll walk into a pole and lose more teeth.

There's no guarantee that laser eye surgery would be successful, though. Still a developing science. He should probably do the tooth. Besides, isn't it uncomfortable to eat?

Dude you can get a cheap replacement tooth via a retainer I believe. Vision first, always.
I wear glasses for minor vision issues which probably wouldn't benefit from lasik. If I could get lasik to fix my vision, I'd definitely do it in a heartbeat. Even if I was missing a tooth.
If he has the money now, why not do it now? Vision is something you are completely reliant on, one tooth out of 32 teeth can wait to be fixed.

yeah laser eye surgery if you get hit in hte face the part they cut can SLIDE off and then he has to PAY to go back into and have it fixed... EVERY time it happens. and i hear with some people it happens a lot...
theres no way of healing the eye yet. which is the only reason i'm having contacts over laser surgery.

I'd opt for the eye, being one of impaired vision, I'd jump at the chance to have Lasik eye surgery to correct my impairment. Teeth are extremely superficial, unless you have the brown, yellow, and hole infested teeth of a crackhead, as if a crackhead would ever have the money for dental surgery. But, all in all, vision is way more important than bite, unless you're a beaver.
