i don't think that its real. I mean, maybe its something, but probably not an alien. Be honest, if Nasa really found an alien on mars, they'd all be over here covering it up more then likely. It seems more likely that it was released to the public so that maybe they will get more funding for the mars program... Same concpet of the moon landing?? and Honestly, we all know Nasa hides secrets about space. Comeon. This picture looks almost like the Patterson Bigfoot film.

there are plenty of other rocks in the picture, why would that one have a human like structure? And if it is a being of some sort it definitely not bigfoot. We cant even prove it exists on earth, not to mention mars.

Here is the area imaged in '01...



The "alien" seen in the recent picture is the same thing.  Just a trick of light and shadows.  And the ability of the technology on the scene is limited and cannot bring out greater resolution.  Its fun to think about the possibility of past intelligent life on Mars, but I've seen nothing yet that looks like evidence to me.  I hope we go there and do some exploring in my lifetime, but I have doubts.  There is not enough public support and excitement for the Mars program like there was for Moon exploration in the 60s.

I wouldn't say it's an alien. it looks more like an eroded sculpture of Ariel from the Little Mermaid.

maybe it's the ruins of an ancient city and it's a statue.
