its ok to mist your tennerium with a mix of water and hydrogen peroxide right?

Well i hear alot of people around here using something like 5% peroxide (maybe thats too much?) for their misting. Apparently it doesnt hurt the mycelium at all but i dont use it.

Anything that takes the color out of your hair i deem not healthy....

i have a bottle of peroxide that says it is 10% h2o2 and 90% water so i just poured some of that into my spray bottle and filled it with water so that probably a very small % shouldnt harm it at all?

It's fine to put a splash of H2O2 in your mist water. Not neccessary, but if it makes you feel better, it's fine.

Most standard H2O2 is only 3%, sounds like you have some 10%, so you will have to dilute it accordingly. Mix 1 cup of your 10% solution with approx. 2.5 cups of water.... this will give you roughly a 3% starting solution. You can then dilute this 3% solution 1:20 with water for your misting solution.
You can also mix you 10% solution 1:50 ... same thing.

In answer to your question, NO, H202 does NOT hurt mycelium at all (in reasonable concentrations)

H2O2 mist will help keep contams off the walls of the terr but i strongly belive that any contam can easily survive a 3% misting. Contams dont just attack the top layer of a cake/casing, they get the inside as well....

In my opinion H2O2 mist is useless.

Fd is right about the contam going throughout a casing. The H2O2 is effective in misting in that it will first kill any new contams that could be in the misting water, and could help with any "new" airborn contams that get introduced to the surface of your casing through regular air exchange. I would say that if you have to mist... why not be safer and use the H2O2.
I look at it this way... would you rather take the time to boil and sterlize ALL the water you use throughout your growing efforts, or simply add a little H2O2 to it? Your choice.

I asked a master once HIPPIE3 and he said he uses a solution of 100ccs3%H2O2 to 1 gallon water i also use this for my misting it works way good....thanks Hippie you rock!
