hydrogen peroxide?

I was just a little curious about the uses of this substance, as well as how to use it. I also read in a recent post that a person literally sprayed everthing with hydrogen peroxide in order to prevent contaminants in the terrarium. Any comments would be very informative-thanks

Add 10% hydrogen peroxide to water. I think it sterilizes just about everything and breaks down in water and heat. Also used in perlite to keep contams down. Not 100% on this but it's how i use, Anyone elses opinion appreciated.

I haven't delt with h2o2 (peroxide) personally (other than personal hygiene) but I understand that it sterilizes very well. After exposure to heat and light it breaks down into air and water.

(2)H2O2->(2)H2O+(1)O2

This makes it a very safe decontaminant to use. Use @ 10% solution for best results.

I have heard of quite an old tek that most people don't agree with which involves dunking your nearly-spent cakes in a bath of 10% h2O2 and cold water overnight. This supposedly gets a few more shrooms out of your tired old cakes. I have never tried it though, so I can't verify if it works or not...

I think this needs to be cleared up ... isn't it a 1:10 ratio of 3% hydrogen peroxide to distilled water? ... if so then they're not using a 10% solution ... they're using a .3% solution ... also if you use a lot of this go to a hydroponics shop and pay 9 bucks for a 500 ml bottle of 35% hydrogen peroxide be careful not to get it on clothes, carpet, etc.. wear gloves too it burns like a bitch ... add 75ml to a gallon of water and you have the regular 3% solution that you buy in a drug store (10 volume, 3%) which costs 2 bucks/500ml bottle there's 3785 ml in a gallon .. you do the math so now you use your 3% solution to do your mistings or you can do the diluting that everyone does with the 1:10 h2o2 to h2o ratio
