Diamondbacks go trade-crazy

The D-Backs just sent six prospects to the Oakland A's for Danny fucking Haren and some dude named Connor Robertson, and sent Jose Valverde to the Houston Astros for 3 players in return. Even with Andruw Jones probably bouncing back and having a great year for the Dodgers, at least I think that's what will happen, I think this move pretty much makes the D-Backs the team to beat in the NL West next year. Dan Haren is going to win a Cy Young one day. And unlike so many great young pitchers, he's got a delivery that doesn't make you sorta cringe imagining the ways he can get hurt. Smooth as silk, that boy.

Do you think the Rockies were a fluke and will not contend this year in the NL West?

I think they will contend but I think the baby 'Backs are probably going to be a little less baby next year and certainly give them a run for their money...Haren-Webb, in the NL, is an absolutely sick 1-2 combo.

Crap, that's a great trade on the surface. Webb-Haren is a sick 1-2.
I hate when my friend's teams hook it up.

To this day I am pissed at Walt Jockety (ex-Cardinals GM) for trading away Dan Haren in exchange for fucking Mark Mulder. I mean, I love Mulder when he's healthy, and we needed an ace at that point-- but he should've seen the injury troubles coming a mile off. Worst move of Walt's otherwise excellent tenure in St. Louis.
