V is for Vagina......

Anyone heard this yet.....it's the album from Maynard James Keenan's new band Puscifer.

I'll be the first to say....BOOOOOOOOOOOOO

What a pile of trash this album is, half assed techno, his voice sounds atrocious, and the lyrics are directed to a 12 year old. Nice try Maynard but I think you made me not like Tool as much with this pile of trash......

I thought was alright but not that great. The best thing about it was the package the CD came in unfortunately. At least the package was hilarious. I had high hopes for puscifer after the 2 tracks on the underworld soundtrack but was let down unfortunately.

Oh well the vicarious DVD comes out in less than a week.

Personally, I thought it was fucking amazing. It's supposed to be different from Tool, that's the whole point. And it really has a good feel to it, the beats and rhythms have a 1970s feel to them. It's a completely new style, and as Maynard said, music is dead, and this is the aftermath.

ya puscifer isn't really 'new' and this cd is like a month old.. i've never heard of it and im giving it a first listen.. not impressed so far.

I was severely disappointed as well. Trashy album imo. Maynard let me down big time. But his last few recordings have been going downhill..

maybe you guys don't like his other albums because you are actually into adam jones and danny carry, not maynard. also, i would think after so much success with tool, maynard would naturally try to get away from that kind of music, being typecast probably gets boring. but i haven't heard this new one at all, so maybe i would agree with you all.

I do like adam jones and danny carey.. but I've also liked maynard's shit in this past. I thought this album was gonna be good but I was really let down. Give it a listen and make up your own mind.

I agree. I feel Maynard was trying to step away from the sounds of Tool and A Perfect Circle. He's putting his mind out there, and that's always been "out there".

I really liked the albums. Trekka and Indigo Children are my favorite tracks. It is alot different than most of his other music but its still pretty good.

COTAD is one of Maynards old old bands, I uploaded one of their songs here. I have that entire album, its called Fingernails. Its not the best but you can definitely here his sound. IMO if hes in a band that music will play well with any of his other music, I mean even if he trys to explore different genres its still going to come out sounding the same as all his other music. I don't mean that in a bad way either, most all of his music is amazing.

It's alright. Momma Sed, Vagina Mine, and Sour Grapes are great tracks. Dozo, Trekka, and Indigo Children are alright but not too great. Everything else sucks. Queen B would be good but the lyrics are retarded.

Well no kidding it's supposed to be different than tool. Why would he make a solo project sound exactly the same as his band?

How can anyone say he's "trying something new", has anyone ever heard of Nine Inch Nails for christ sakes? Maynard even rips off beats from the fragile....and LYRICS...christ. Number 2.... it's a beat that is on the fragile and maynards talking about waiting at a station and boarding a train......which are lyrics on the fragile done in exactly the same way.

The "techno" is nothing more than really crappy bass loops on what sounds like a half assed program like fruity loops, and hardly ever changes or progresses throughout the song, and isn't anywhere near good enough to be as repititious as it is.

The lyrics don't guide you in anyway shape or form, there more or less cheesy one liners he probably came up with while he was high and has a "deeper meaning", but it's definitely not worth digging for.

There's so many other bands that have done this already ( remember the 80's anyone? ) and he's doing it in a tired, unoriginal, and considering all his previous work, downright disgraceful way.....

Tweaker - 2 AM Wake up call ( Chriss Vrenna from NIN )

Thom Yorke- Eraser ( radioheads singers side project, maynard doesn't hold a thread to Thoms voice, unlesss you like boring monotone singers with a range of like 2 octaves )

Apocalypse Inside Of An Orange ( this isn't released yet but it's something to look forward to, Omar Rodriguez Lopez, from The Mars Volta, is doing this techno cd )
