No specific claim, just very Buddhist like undertones, and thought processes in both his interviews, and songs.

There's a wine signing today at Whole Foods. I've been preparing for that. I went to one of them last year in Scottsdale (when I had very little money) and only got three bottles. This time I got more cash and am planning on getting 10 bottles or so. I already have 13 of them. I am looking at this as an investment, especially with them both signing them. Should be a good day, unless they sell out before I get to the front. I took a picture a year or so ago of the bottles I have so I will share that with you all. Just like most of you I am a HUGE tool, APC fan. I hope tool does another tour like they did in late 2002. Those shows were bad ass. I'd also be interested in trading shows with people if you have anything from those 2002 shows from about June - November.

I love the deep anger in his voice that can change to a childlike innocence in the course of a song... His lyrics are amazing, the man's a genius.

He was actually really nice yesterday. I bought 5 more bottles (you can get empty ones off ebay from time to time). for the 15 seconds I talked to them we just chatted about the wine. They are doing well during these tough times. i assure you of that. lol. I'd like to take a trip with that guy though. that'd be dope.

I think you can thank all of them equally. From what I have gathered the way they compose their music is by getting all together and jamming and then just working things out together. I can't credit one person over another for their overall composition. You can probably only credit mjk for the lyrics though - likely with help from the other members, but by-and-large it's his lyrics. You can get those Revolver mags on ebay as well. What i really want is one of the painted show posters from the last tour. Who's got a grand to drop on a piece of paper these days?

So I've heard.
He initially served in the Army as a forward observer before studying at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (West Point Prep School) from 1983 to 1984. In addition to completing a rigorous math and English curriculum, he ran on the cross country running team and sang in the glee club.[2] It was during his time in the military that he adopted the sobriquet "Maynard" on a whim.[3] He was distinguished in basic and advanced training,[4] but declined an appointment to West Point and instead chose to pursue a music career because of his disillusionment with his colleagues' values[5] and because he knew West Point would not tolerate his dissidence.[4]
wiki
I think that's the extent of his service. lol.
