Which is the safest of the coca growing countries?

We were thinking of going on holiday to see the real coca farms and chew leaves with the people one day!

But we don't want to goto a battlefield.

Are any of them reasonably safe and welcoming to us English speaking white folk?

safest for who? you, probably not.... for the columbian's i'd say colombia, same with peru. How would you like some guy from another country, who's probably a cop, comming to you coke farm? probably bad reception time:(

Besides. Do you srsly expect coca to be growing on sidewalks in those countries? You'd still have to seek out a guarded plantation. And likely get your ass shot in the process.

My parents went to the Caribbean a few years ago and saw abunch of coca plants growing on one of the islands :shrug:

from what ive heard you can just buy coca leaves from street vendors, and food markets.

I went to Peru and coca leaves were for sale very legally and very cheap. It' is legal down there to chew them as it is part of their heritage. When it comes to real cocaine I'd suggest you go up to small villages up north, next to Ecuador, there is tons of it as it is one of the hot spot for cocaine and it should not be such a problem to get some as a lot of people sell it down there and need the money to live.

There's an article on the shroomery news service board about Bolivia, the new president is expanding coca production and encouraging traditional use. I don't think it would be difficult at all to get a tour of a coca plantation considering the plant is legal to grow in some countries.
