Moving to another country - need advice

OK guys, I need your help. After a lot of thinking I've decided that as soon as I finish university I'll be leaving the United States. I'm not happy with the political situation here and I think it's gonna get a lot worse before it gets better. I haven't decided yet where to go, but I've still got a couple years to think about it. Definitely either Canada or western Europe (but not Britain). I'd like some advice from anyone who's moved to a different country about how difficult it was to adjust, get a job, etc. I was wondering also what recommendations you guys might have on where to move, especially from anyone who's in Canada or Europe.

From what I've read in the news and whatnot, Big Brother is just as bad there as it is here. I could be wrong though... how's things from your perspective?

i dont know about that one... but a friend of mine was in NZ some time ago, and he said that the drug laws are really friendly... you can smoke herb wherever you want and dont even get frowned upon... i could be wrong, tho
and max... i would recommend moving to canada... its a beautiful country, and the people are more than nice... although from moving to europe you always have the added benefit of learning another language... as an american citizen you wouldnt even need a visa or a green card (foreign policy altogether is a lot friendlier over here)... as for getting a job, i dont think it would be hard... it always depends on what you are studying, tho... but i found it more than easy to settle down over here after moving in from ecuador... of course i knew the language and had a few friends, but its not hard... anyways, best of luck with it!

Our govt in Australia is really conservative at the moment, and really just an extension of your govt. The opposition has exactly the same policies as the govt, so dont think things will be changing in the near future. Don't think you'd like it here much better than there in terms of political climate. 85% of the citz are against the war. Doesn't seem to affect the govt though.

Get Out Of The US!
Seriously, some crazy shit is happening right now and in the future.
I went to Germany for a while. It was kind of a culture shock at first, but you get used to it.
I'd like to go to a country closer to the equator. I'd just be chillin there cultivating things and tripping.

I wouldnt say big bro is really an issue (others might disagree)
the drug laws are getting better, MJ is class C (like any prescription drug) & Mushies are legal as long as they aren't prepared.
I get the feeling that you have less personal freedom in the US (might be wrong)
for example I cant think anywhere in the UK would be able to force you to take a drug test in a job (let alone parents) other than the armed forces & mebe the pigs
no-one really has guns (pigs included) there is alot less propaganda & indoctrination. having said all that its probably best for you to travel, there are much more chilled places than Britain & its always good to get a wide perspective, go learn a new language! just dont write Britain off there are some cool people here (mixed in well with the wankers) give us six months you might like it

i am pretty ignorant as to how this process works as well. if someone has the time and knows a good website that has alot of info on this subject i'd be very greatful for a link =)
our government websites are horrible to look through for information, it takes forever and they're put together very crappily imo
