Fuck Comcast

Ever since Road Runner switched to Comcast locally, my internet has been slow as hell every single fucking night.  And I mean almost worse than dial-up slow.  :crankey:

And fuck AT&T too.  I've had so many dropped calls since Cingular changed to AT&T...

Where's my pitchfork?!

comcast has a monopoly in my area
it upsets me to no end
the bills are high, the service gives out semi frequently and the customer service sucks ass

It's all thats available here too. Thats one thing that pisses me off so. There are no other options so theres nothing I can do about it.

Someone told me they're capping our connections, I don't know much about "capping" but from what I gather it means after you receive/send a certain amount of data in 24 hours, your connection is limited severely?

hmm not aware of this

however my internet speed is mediocre

fastest I've downloaded in the past month was 300 kb/s and that was only for a few minutes
average download speed is somewhere around 50 kb/s

I rent a modem from them (I know, fucking stupid and pointless, but I'm lazy) and the damn thing fucking blows. it gives out ever week or so and have to plug, un plug repeat

I found how to get what you want when talking to their customer service after endless hours about how THEY fucked something up. just act like you want to cancel your service and be really bitchy. they will give you what you want in the end.
example: my on demand wasnt working for 14 days and they expected us to pay for that time. I basically bitched the operator out and told them I was done with comcast. they then gave me a month for free :cool:

this applies to the 6 month free deal for hbo aswell, I've called and told them I cant afford  service anymore once the deal is done and they just renewed it for me. that only worked once though :lol:

i have comcast, it's fast as fuck for me
it depends how many people in your area have it

also i only pay $25 for internet, just call and cancel it and they will offer it to you for $25 a month. it used to be $19 but now its $25. just be like "i dont use it that much" or "i dont think its worth it"

I use Dish Network for my television. Thank god, I don't think I could put up with Comcast for more than just intrawebz. Even though I havn't actually sat down and watched TV in almost 2 months...

I live out in the middle of bumfuck nowhere. With roadrunner I used to get constantly great speeds. Then they sold out to Comcast and its been very shitty ever since.

I like Comcast. I get good service, it's pretty cheap, and on demand HD movies have allowed me to bypass purchasing any type of HD-DVD player.
