Not sure why you didnt find any, maby some one beat you to them? I know a couple of years ago I use to pick all kinds of shrooms from this one field. They use to have so many that it wasnt even funny. Then the past 2 years straight, I went back to the field everytime when it rained and there was nothing. Someone had told me that they put stuff in the cows feed to prevent shrooms from growing, so I believed thats what had happened. Well, just this year I went back for one more time just to see if they had any and they were all back. This year is some of the biggest shrooms that I have ever gotten from that field. I just hope it stays like that for a while again. Im pretty sure the farmers werent putting anything in the feed now, b/c they did return. Not sure why they just dont fruit sometimes and sometimes they do.

I have also heard unsubstantiated rumors that farmers add fungicides to their feed and that is what is inhibiting mushroom growth. On more than one occasion, I have searched numerous fields to find virtually no mushroom growth at all whatsoever.
