Simple Kid - Serotonin

When I get well I'm gonna move to the country, breathe clean air man, turn the televisions off for a while, Eskimo style. Gotta just breathe in, breathe out, breathe. In the city you know, get paid, you get laid, go to the clinic and you listen as the doc says: “Don't drink, don't smoke, work hard, be fun, don't eat no junk” ain't it just enough to make you wanna go get drunk? that's what I done. Well anyway the drink got me thinking what a friend had said, guess what he said:
“Happiness is nothing but the flow of serotonin in your head, got nothing to do with Jesus Christ, nothing got to do with wrong or right, oh help me out can it be right? that it all boils down to how the chemicals flow to your soul?”...
-------------------- Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake. -Erik Davis

i didnt watch a the video yet but that quote was enough. Interesting.
-------------------- Man is timid and apologetic; he is no longer upright; he dares not say "I think," "I am," but quotes some saint or sage. He is ashamed before the blade of grass or the blowing rose.Man postpones or remembers; he does not live in the present, but with reverted eye laments the past, or, heedless of the riches that surround him, stands on tiptoe to foresee the future. He cannot be happy and strong until he too lives with nature in the present, above time TRANSCEND

I arrived at the Apollo Theatre Friday night to see Spiritualized do their first American show in 4 years...this guy Simple Kid was the opener..
I sit in my seat and he says "This is my last song, it's called Serotonin." I grinned huge, because I had a bag of molly in my pocket and was getting ready to go to the bathroom to ingest some.
First I sat and listened to this song Serotonin...and I knew it was time to kickstart my serotonin production. I swallowed a lot of molly...I mean a goddamn good amount of molly my friend.
A beautiful, beautiful evening, and the song is stuck with me ever since.

I dunno, he cleaned up pretty damn well. Whenever you have that amount of beard hair, i don't think you can do it like you would if you just had a bit of stubble.
