just went surfing.

just got back from going surfing for my second time. i just tried it for the first time on saturday. the waves were shite today, but they were decent on saterday.

i stood up on my first wave i caught which i didn't expect.

any other surfers on here? if so any tips?

I surfed twice when I was in maui about 4 years ago
got up and actually rode a wave out, it was great
too bad the closest area to surf from me is like 1000 miles

dude I miss warm water :frown:

Where I moved from water temp would still be 60 - mid 60s or even better. That means surfing with a 1 mil top and shorts on Thanksgiving!  Now, I live in 50 degree land - need a 3/2 even most summer days :frown: But at least there is no lack of size . . . some days I can't go out because it is just too big :smile:

Regardless, surfing is very pure and equates well with psychedelics. Wave action collects frequencies and rolls them into the unity of a single wave, which then dissapates the energies back chaotically into the medium.

Also, while surfing, seeing the line is an intuitive act of divining the future, and can feel very natural and "in tune". Also, the sensation that free energy is all around you is extreme. Next to my girl, my cats and psychedelics, I love surfing the most lol :wink:

I surfed all the time growing up and throughtout highschool. Havent been in about 2 years but depending on where you are, watch out for locals. I know a lot of people in San Diego get territorial. If I didnt know most of the locals from when I was a kid I probably would have gotten my ass kicked a few times for "snaking" their ride.

hows easy is the balance of it? im near the ocean but theres not surf-able waves here, i do snowboard however. surfing is something i would like to try someday, so how was your experience?

i surf abit, mainly body board
we go hiking into the national parks on the coast here, camp on empty beaches some nice breaks, easier to tie a bodyboard to your pack :smirk:, i think body boarding is pretty much as fun as surfing, though if could do airs and decent tricks on a surfboard id probably like it better.

i think everyone should be playing how ever they like in the ocean

i love to just body surf too,nothing like it

its kind of trickie at first but once you learn its like riding a bike,you might get rusty but you know...

anyone with normal average coordination can probably stand up after a couple of hours of trying
