I might have to check that out this year. It'd probably be at least a 4 hour drive for me to get there though. Is it worth the time and gas money?

I don't really know where you're at, and how good your hills are. It's nothing especially spectacular, but I'd say it's the best in WI.

I use to snowboard a lot, but I've significantly cut back. This past weekend I went to whistler for 4 days, which was fun, but that was my first snowboard session in like 2 years. I use to have a season pass to my local mountain, for about 4 years, but i got tired of inconsistent snow conditions. So now i pretty much only surf, conditions are good a lot more often and you can do it year round a lot more easily than snowboarding.
Still, Snowboarding is super fun. I forgot how much of a blast it was until this past weekend. Probably gonna get back into it next season when i have some more $, or less broken surfboards.

i dont like snowboarding when high, it makes you have to go slow, worry about getting injured, and you're not able to go all out...makes it kinda boring

I don't snowboard, but I live to ski. I'm fuckin stoked for winter. We have been getting little snow teases here and there the past 2 weeks and it's driving me crazy.
I'm in the midwest too, so I feel ya man. If you're ever around MN, we have some decent spots considering... check out Spirit MTN for some decent kickers and a little further north up superior is Lutsen, which just did a major overhaul and added a park that's supposed to be decent.
I usually head to the mountains at least 3 times a year... CO usually. this year we're goin to whistler!
and yes, I like to eat low doese of mushies and smoke a bunch of weed while I'm skiing. It totally gets me in the zone too, but not all the time. I will say that the first cork 1080 I ever stomped was inspired by the fungus a few years ago. and if you can't afford to pay for lift tickets, sneaking in usually works for me.
peace.

Holy shit! You can land a 1080? You've got to be lying. But if your telling the truth you've got some serious skill!

That's not how it is for me. When I get a nice buzz before I hit the slopes it's like it relaxes me and give me smoother more fluent style and better flow. But if I smoke a blunt or something and get super fried that seems to affect my balance and make me worse. You just gotta catch a buzz, not got completely baked.
Here's my setup for this year:

Burton Blunt board -155cm, Burton Custom bindings, and then I've got some White Burton Moto boots to go with it. I wear size 11 boots and the board width is 250 mm so I've got a little bit of toe and heel overhang, I hope I don't have too many problems with toe and heel drag.
We're supposed to get a little slushy snow on Sat. and then 1-3 inches of snow on Sunday. If I don't make it out to the slopes this weekend I'll definitely make it out next weekend.
Once we get enough snow I won't even need to go to the ski resorts to shred, I'm gonna set up a mini-park in my front yard. My house is built up on a hill so my whole front yard and driveway is a hill about as steep and long as most bunny hills. First I'm going to shovel all the snow form the driveway and sidewalk up to the top of the hill and try and make a huge, steep take off hill to pick up extra speed. Then I've got 2 skateboard rails that I'm going to set up in the snow, 1 is a kinked rail and the other is just a flat bar. And then I'll finish it off with a couple different sized jumps at the bottom of the hill before you get to the street. So I'll have a run where I can hit a kinked rail, hit the flat bar, and then finish it off with a jump at the end. That'll be a pretty nice set up to have right in my front yard.
Let it snow, let it snow, let is snow!

Hell yeah, I really like the Custom bindings. They're really comfortable and well paded, super easy to adjust, pretty light and they look phat too.

Love snowboarding but I need to quit buying music gear long enough to save for a good setup. I'm that guy who has to call all his friends amd see who's not using their board this weekend before he can go snowboarding.

Nice setup.
Here's mine.
Burton Baron 167, Burton Mission Bindings and Deeluxe Boots. Missions are alright, bought them when i was still learning, still pretty good. Looking at getting some Burton P1 bindings when i have the money.
I've got a size 15 foot, so hence why i chose the Baron. Its wider to accommodate bigger feet. Pretty good, have very minimal if any toe/heel drag.
