I'm not all steamed about this or anything.
Don't get me wrong.
But I am a little surprised more wasn't made of this when the ratings were put into place.
And I place myself in that category btw.
But maybe there can be one last gasp.

This place from the beginning ( and I have been around here a little while)..
was about saying what you think regardless of how popular it was.
Let's face it, many of us are misfits in everyday society.
Can we have at least ONE place to escape being labeled?

My gut feeling is that many people reading this know what I'm saying and agree.
Just remember, your silence is counted as a vote in favor.
And this is the last I'll ever say about it.

I say dump them, I dont really put any faith in them, i mean i dont look at someones mushrooms and say *wow* this guy has no good advice he only has 1 shroom or *cool* everything thing this chic says is gold because she has 5 shrooms

I pay more attention to the number of rates than the number of shrooms. The higher the number of rates, the more that person has effected people, for good or ill. Then I look at their posts, and make my personal determinations from there. I know some people I really like who only have one shroom, but many rates, and I enjoy their posts...

I guess I don't really care either way. I don't really look at them, and my rating has ALWAYS been 3. It hasn't gone up or done. Not a lot of people take the time to vote.

One other benefit of dumping the ratings system occured to me.
It would cut down on sock puppets, saving The Shroomery resources used on redundant accounts.
I would like to see a graph showing number of users before and after the ratings were implemented.
I'll bet there was a big spike. (People rating themselves).
