But look at how ugly socitey is, today. Rap music! The world would be better if it was still in black & white. And psychedelics would still be underground, secret things, and wouldn't have all the horrible demonization they currently have.

dr_gonz, many European countries would probably be a good example of a non-counter-culture influenced world.

Any different?
Yes, of course.

The Beatles would've peaked at A Hard Day's Night

yeah, and the boy band genre wouldn't exist, having no Beatles to inspire it.
-------------------- "America touts itself as the land of the free, but the number one freedom that you and I have is the freedom to enter into a subservient role in the workplace. Once you exercise this freedom you've lost all control over what you do, what is produced, and how it is produced. And in the end, the product doesn't belong to you. The only way you can avoid bosses and jobs is if you don't care about making a living. Which leads to the second freedom: the freedom to starve." - Tom Morello

All events of the past change the present time. Remember when Homer went back in time and changed the future drastically just by stepping on a bug or whatever? Well the psychedelic movement stepped on a big ass bug and thank god they did. I can only take so much "Leave It To Beaver" and "Father Knows Best".
