Hi bemushroomed.

I'm looking a good source for 100mm plastic (sterile) petri dishes in
Europe. Anyone can help me?

Actually i've found for 500 plastic Petri plates, 100 mm in diameter at 97€ but i want to find a better deal. Thinkig that in US i can find the same for 35$ makes me crazy.

You won't find good ones for $35 anymore.  I just paid $87 for a box of 500.  It seems that with the $100 per barrel oil, a massive new round of inflation is underway, thanks to our moron of a president who just happens to benefit personally from screwing the rest of us.  Sorry world. :shrug:

As you know, also if I've bought the spedition was something like 168$, so really expensive.

Buying from US is really unconvenient for Europeans..i won't imagine when i'll have to buy my AA941 :S

However oil or not, the prices are really more low respect the prices in Europe.

I hope the dollar will increase his value respect the euro, because you're making a really bad end. Here in Europe the situation is the same but from some years, exspecially when some fat men converted the local money to euro. Consider 1 Euro is 1936,27 Lire (the old money of ITaly before the euro), well if Yesterday i bought a thing 1000 lire today i don't pay it 0,50€ , but 1,00€. In few words the prices are doubled but on the payback the money are always the same. A really shit a really no future for all the youths of the Europe. Europeans can confirm.

Yes, isn't easy but the better thing is to have the life. 100 years ago our people stayed not so well like today and they lived and generated us, and made they common lifes however, so i'm supposing we stay better then them however.

Semilanceata, do you know any good source of Petri in Europe?

I buy 14x90mm in small quantities. They come in bags of 20 petris, 1,65€ each bag + deliver.

I´m asking some companies that manufacture laboratory material. I´m still dealing with them but they won´t deliver if the order doesn´t reach the quantity of money that they determine. I need to be a company too, they don´t sell to individuals.
I´m sure you will be able to find some in google for your country. It´s better to do it locally so the deliver expenses are reduced. Gas is expensive and that´s what you´re paying.
Anyway, if you don´t find anything let me know and once I finish the deal I´ll let you know the prices and conditions.

I've been using the click on pp takeawy containers that Tripsis uses (although he uses the 40ml ones and i bought the 70ml ones).

They are cheap, widely available from catering suppliers, and seal a little better than petries.


I have a 100 petries in the cupboard, but still prefer the takeawy containers for short term use.:thumbup:

I like PP, but it isn't totally clear, and I like my cultures are in a very clear sterile container. I have when water drops enter into the petri dishes :smile:

Have you tried ebay? There are some here in the uk on ebay. Not sure what shipping would be, but I dont think it would be too much.

Are you looking for a case(500) or just some sleeves?

Well, for us in the uk, this is the cheapest on ebay for a case.

But, we have used another ebay member for really good deals on plates in the past. I emailed him to see if he has any atm. Looks like he only has blue plates on ebay right now. I'll let you know when he gets back to me.

It seems cheaper than in Italy, but it depends if the expiration date is near, the height and the shipping cost.

I will do man. Usually the plates on ebay are expired, but I haven't heard of anyone having problems with them.
