Old roommate stole my 400 security deposit.

And he wont give it back because he said that I moved out to soon. There wawsn't any contract and there wasn't any damage. All it is, is that bitch fucker cant afford the rest of the rent.

if he cant afford the rent because you left without notice and didn't find a replacement, then he's in the right and you're an ass...


if you gave him notice on your move, weren't required to find a replacement, and never destroyed anything, he's a dick and your'e in the right.

lol well it's your mistake for assuming you'd get a deposit back.

when I put down a deposit for an apt I just assume I'll never see it again.

my first apt I put down a $200 deposit... then a week before I was going to move out they had flyers on the doors announcing they were going to change the mini blinds to vertical blinds soon, so it was kinda a notice that they would be in your apt. well, my cat had broke off a couple ends to the mini blinds... so instead of buying a $4 set of mini blinds at walmart, i just left them there, cuz afterall, they were going to get replaced anyway.

wrong.

the apt complex charged me some retarded cleaning fees (even though that apt was cleaner when I moved out than it was when i moved in) and a carpet cleaning fee- even though they saw me steam cleaning my carpet before I moved out. (i lived above the "show" apt). that conveniently added up to $200- poof there goes the deposit.

and to put icing on the cake they charged me for the mini blinds.

and you wouldn't believe how much they charged... $68

yes $68 for the cheapest, flimsiest mini blinds ever put on God's green earth... that were going to be replaced anyway.

oh, and even though I moved to another apt in the SAME complex, you know how I found out about the mini blinds?

I was sent to collections. for $68.

since then, every apt complex nickels and dimes your deposits back when you move out. last time I moved I didn't bother to "deep clean" everything. I didn't leave trash or anything, but i really didn't feel like scrubbing everything down in vain.

I gave the douchebag notice. I told him that it isn't my fault that he cant afford the payment and he said that he could......so I asked him why the fuck are you keeping my money? Because it is standard he said.-Bullshit.
