I find the best way to take prints in the field is to use the Captain Max Spore Collar.
This fits around the stem and catches the spores. Cover the shroom with a cup over night and return the next day to retrieve the collar. Works great!

The collar is a small square of paper or foil and it has a notch in it for the stem. Here is a pic of collars on Psilocybe cyanescens in a dedicated fridge. Thee cyans wee transplanted from the wild and grown out in the fridge.
