Anyone use them for spawn?

I have a chance to get as many 35lb bags of Wheat berries I want for just $5 a bag, no tax just $5 out the door but Ive never heard of them being used in growing.

I have heard it whispered among the trees that while wheat berries do work they burst easier than rye berries and are more 'sticky' in general. Perhpas if you experimented with slightly less water than rye or a shorter pre-soak you could avoid this.
