drying/preservation of shrooms

Now a quick note on drying the shrooms. Here is what i did.

Purchased a 2 small buckets of DampRid. I open one and put the Damp Rid in the bucket, on the bottom, and folded wire mesh screen and sat that ontop of the Dam Rid. So the shrooms are sitting ontop of wire screen elevated above the DampRid inside the DampRid bucket, the small size one, you know what im talking about. Then i but the bucket with the shrooms inside and took a blastice garbage/grocery bag and put the drying chamber in there and tied it tight.
Thinking i want to keep it air tight as possable so no moisture comes in as moisture is being pulled out from the air inside the container.
The container lid itself should seal in the air and prevent fresh air from comming in?
I dont know. I hope so.
Now ontop of all of this I put the drying chamber inside the refrigerator.

Sounds good to me. I use to use DampRid until I invested in a food dehydrator with a temp control on it. I'v also heard if you put another layer of wire mesh under neath your first wire mesh (the one that the shrooms sit on) and you place tissue on it the tissue's will absorb the moisture instead of the damprid melting. Does that make sense? Also, If you want to store the mushrooms that you dry; a good way is storing them in canning jars and filling the jars with co2. You can make the co2 by mixing vinegar and baking soda together in a 2 liter bottle then pour the now co2 into the canning jars that contain the shrooms (be sure not to pour any of the vinegar or baking soda in the jars just the co2 gas).
